I Love You, But...

October 27th 2006 06:53
...you are a moron.

There are many ways of expressing your love to your friends/lovers etc. You can say it directly, or your actions may speak for you. Your gift, or a letter may show your love. It's up to you. But the most common way is to tell. For this purpose, English language has a sentence which is quite plain and easy to pronounce:

"I love you."

As you can see, there is no "but" at the end of the sentence. Some people add a tiny word "but" at the end of this sentence. Like;

- I love you, but we can't be together
- I love you, but this is too much for me.

...

It ever goes on. The word "but," according to my dictionary is used for introducing something in contrast or unexpected. Let's take a closer look then. What's in contrast with love? Hate? Maybe but it'd be a bit harsh. Let's say the person setting up that sentence with the word but at the end of it is actually trying to tell that person that he/she is not in love with him/her. Because when you add anything more than a period, a but, it creates contradiction, and behind it, tells the very truth that he/she is not in love.

So, when someone says "I Love you but..." to you, only his/her mouth speaks of love. Focus on the part after the word "but", because the "I love you" thing is there just to soften the truth.

How to End a Friendship

October 24th 2006 14:33

Period. It's that simple.

If you don't want to spend your time with any of your friends -in that case they are ex-friends, because friends are the people we'd like to be with- do NOT tell your ideas them indirectly. This includes passive aggressive behaviour, not returning calls, etc. Don't forget that until your friendship is over, you are still friends. And friends speak with sincerity. So tell him/her that you don't want to see her/him anymore. Don't dramatize it. Be earnest, plain, and clear. It's better to keep it short.

End of story.

The Thick Line Between Love & Date

October 18th 2006 14:33
Even if you are a pathetic loser, sooner or later you'll have a date. No matter how you look, what you like/dislike, who you are. Even I, a god damn nerd and/or geek, had some. This is the way of Mother Nature, you can't stand against it. But you must know that this is not the end, it's only the beginning.

So, you see the handsome guy/beautiful girl, (you notice her/his pysical appearance, and pyscial aesthetic qualities of him/her only, at first sight.) and ask for a date. This is the first, and probably the best (and only) step into a healthy realtionship. (lol!) You two, will go out, see a movie, have a dinner, have some chat and learn about each other.

If you are into a serious relationship, then you must know that Dating is not equal to Love. By and by, you'll know and love this person, not at first sight. Forget all of the fairy tales you hear or see on movies, it sounds nice but there is not such a thing as "love at first sight." It's the sexual desire, NOT love!

After your first date, you'll decide whether you'll have another date or not. And if you are lucky enough, you will!

PS: Planning to continue on why we fall in love with a little help from a German Philosopher called, Schopenhauer.

Quotes on Friendship

October 17th 2006 07:31
"Friendship is unnecessary, like philosophy, like art... It has no survival value; rather is one of those things that gives value to survival."
C.S. Lewis

Social Life: A MMRPG

October 16th 2006 05:06
In society, people have some roles that are given to them by the conventions. It's like a role-playing game, a massive multiplayer role-playing game. Roles may fit or may not fit to each and every individual. But, one way or another you must fit into one of the stereotypes. You must wear the mask that has been chosen for you, and wear it all the time. I mind you, all of your life!

That is not a simple trick to do if you are not happy with the role you are given. You must pretend to act like one, though you are not happy with the situation at all. On the other hand, if you are not happy with the role you have, that is a sign of wisdom. It shows that you can not easily be shaped like clay or some sort

A True Friend Stabs You in the Front

October 12th 2006 17:18
English playwright and wit Oscar Wilde says that. It sounds a bit cynical but it is quite right.

We all make mistakes, we all have flaws and no friend of yours -or mine- is the "übermensch". Therefore, sooner or later he/she will make something that seems very wrong to you, something that will hurt your feelings. And when that moment arrives, you, as a friend must forgive, forget and hold on to your friendship, because only friends will do such a thing. Besides, there are thousands of reasons to forgive. I'll give you a few, and you'll complete the list

Friendship is a long run. There will be ups and downs. If you have a true friend, sooner or later you will find yourself in a situation that you must have an arguement and/or you must have a fight with her/him -and of course reach a solution at the end of it. It is a necessity. If everything is OK all the time, then it means somewhere something is going terribly wrong. And it means that you were never true friends.

But when the time arrives you must know how to act properly, and I've got you covered. Here it is; the right way to have a fight with your friends

Borders of a Friendship

October 10th 2006 17:29
Friendship is a vast land. It reaches far and wide, and you are free to go anywhere on this piece of land. It is the place where you and your friend have some peace of mind and enjoy your life. And as your friendship grows, the land also grows wider. But then, some time later a threat is likely to appear. And if you are careless a bit, your free land may well turn into an empire, a land of tyranny.

The borders of a friendship is defined by respect, and respect only. It is such drawn that even the slightest change on the border might well turn into a war

Three Rules of Friendship

October 10th 2006 05:18
friend: / 'frend/ one attached to another by affection or esteem.

The Merriam-Webster Online Dictionary defines the simple word “friend” as such. But under this simple, six-letter word lies a description of our world. Society is built upon this word. People live and die by its meaning, even nations have peace or wage war against on another with the image that this tiny word creates in the minds
